- PICKETS: Pickets are the vertical elements in a wood fence. Pickets may be spaced or sloid to give different degrees of privacy. Several standard designs are available for the tops of the pickets: "Gothic," "Special Gothic," "Dog-Ear," and "Chestnut Hill." Please contact us to ask about our selection of hand-cut, historical period pickets.
- The entire section may be cut in a convex (curving up) or concave (curving down) pattern.
- POSTS: Posts are the upright supports for the fence. Wood posts can be plain, routed, or topped with post caps.
- SIZE: Sections (from post to post) are generally 8 feet long. Heights range up to 6 feet.
- TYPE OF WOOD: Spruce and/or Western Red Cedar. We use red cedar instead of white cedar. Red cedar lasts longer, stays straighter and doesn't check like white cedar.
- Please note we do not currently stain (or paint) fences. The fences below have been stained by the customers after installation. We would be happy to recommend a painting service to you.
